Gutter Cleaning & Winter Preparations

For most people rain gutters go without  notice  until a heavy rain turns them into a waterfall. Gutter systems are created to catch the rain water flowing off your  roof diverting it toward downspouts which allow them
to  release the water into some type of drainage system. If water is not directed away from the home it can damage wood siding, windows,  brick, and ultimately erode the very foundation of your home. Water is a very powerful force of nature and can do tremendous damage. It is no wonder that one of the most important preparations for a coming hurricane is gutter cleaning. Thankfully, Santa Cruz Ca. is not expecting any hurricanes soon, however, both winter and rain are on their way. The obvious solution is to keep ones gutters clean and clear of debris before any problems arise. It is recommended that most homes in the Santa Cruz area have there gutters cleaned at least once a year and ultimately before things get saturated.
San Lorenzo Valley home owners, especially in the Boulder Creek, Ben Lomond, Felton and Scotts Valley area, twice a year is recommended. Like so many things in life preventative measures are best. Not only do clogged
gutters and downspouts damage wood, siding, windows and a homes foundation, but the actual gutter cleaning systems themselves become corrupted once these clogs occur. The weight imposed by stored  water will cause gutters to loose there original pitch so that water no longer flows toward the downspouts. Stagnant water is also a breeding ground for mosquitoes and the number one cause of rust which produces leaks. Pure Light Window & Gutter Cleaning has been offering professional gutter cleaning since 1999. We are fully licensed and insured and estimates are always FREE.

GUTTER CLEANING IN SCOTTS VALLEY, BEN LOMOND, FELTON & BOULDER CREEK

Gutter cleaning in Scotts Valley, Ben Lomond, Felton and Boulder Creek requires a unique set of skills and equipment.  While Santa Cruz as a whole has lots of trees and foliage surrounding most homes, only gutter cleaning in the Soquel and Santa Cruz mountains can truly compare with ScottsValley, Ben Lomond Felton and Boulder Creek. Usually around October each year, the trees begin to drop their leaves and Fall brings our first rains to the Santa Cruz area. While many homes can often get away with a simple gutter cleaning, Scotts Valley, Ben Lomond, Felton and Boulder Creek homes require additional care. It simply makes little sense to clean gutters and not address the huge amount a debris that is laying on the roof. This roof debris, if left unattended will eventually find its way back to the gutters. Along with roof and gutter cleaning, each downspout should be inspected to insure there are no clogs and everything is flowing properly. And finally, debris that has fallen onto the property should be cleared from walkways, decks and driveways, making the home look as good as it was found if not better.
